Mission: MWR Libraries support the greatest Army in the world with professional staff providing access to premier information resources and services, engaging and thought-provoking programs that support mission readiness and resiliency through lifelong learning and recreational pursuits.

Online Resources for Learning

Gale has created an "easy access site" for the patrons of the Community Library and the entire Fort Gregg-Adams Community. To access the wonderful resource, simply click on the link (or type https://www.dodmwrlibraries.org/ into your browser), the choose Army and select the Fort Gregg-Adams Community Library on the "Choose our Base" drop down menu.  

This site puts all of the Gale databases into one spot with easy access for all. The only thing you'll need is the new temporary password: dodmwr to open up a world of information. There you will find something for everyone - for all ages and all interests.

National Geographic Kids - These magazines are awesome attention grabbers!

Gale General Onefile - Create a journal alert for your favorite general interest magazine and get notified weekly of updated content.

Always something new!
New books are always available at the Library and our collections of fiction, non-fiction, and biographies are updated monthly. While you’re searching for books, take a minute to check out some of the latest DVD releases — we have educational and feature films.

Library orientation sessions are available on request. Please call us to schedule an appointment.

Patrons 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Library Parking:
Monday through Friday during business hours, Library patrons may park in designated Library Patron Parking spaces in the student lot off Jessup or in the back of ALU (Evacuation Road). Library patrons may park in any ALU parking lot after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends.

Summer Reading Program:
During the summer months, the Fort Gregg-Adams Community Library hosts a Summer Reading Program which features a range of free activities for children, teens, and adults that encourage and support a love of reading. Participants also earn incentives by reaching their reading and activity goals.

Sites for Readers

Goodreads is the world's largest site for readers and book recommendations. Our mission is to help people find and share books they love. You can use Goodreads to see which books your friends are reading; track thr books your're reading, have read, or want to read; check out your personalized book recommendations; or find out if a book is a good fit for you from the community's reviews.

FictFact will keep track of the books you're reading and give you a list of the books you need to read next. You'll be able to find users with similar tastes, tag books and series, and get recommendations on other book series. We'll even email you the week books you're following come out. All for free.

LibraryThing is an online service to help people catalog their books easily. You can access your catalog from anywhere—even on your mobile phone. Because everyone catalogs together, LibraryThing also connects people with the same books, comes up with suggestions for what to read next, and so forth. It is a full-powered cataloging application, searching the Library of Congress, all five national Amazon sites, and more than 690 world libraries. You can edit your information, search and sort it, "tag" books with your own subjects, or use the Library of Congress and Dewey systems to organize your collection. If you want it, LibraryThing is also an amazing social space, often described as "Facebook for books." You can check out other peoples' libraries, see who has the most similar library to yours, swap reading suggestions and so forth. LibraryThing also makes book recommendations based on the collective intelligence of the other libraries.

New York Times Bestseller List provides access a list of items on the New York Times Bestseller List which ranks books based on sales. Updated weekly.

NPR Bestsellers provides lists of bestsellers based on a survey of independent bookstores nationwide. Updated weekly.

Amazon Bestsellersprovides a ranking based on sales at Amazon.com. Updated hourly.

USA Today Best-selling Books ranks the 150 top-selling titles each week based on an analysis of sales from U.S. booksellers. Updated weekly.

E-Books and Audio Books

Army Digital Media Library, sponsored by Army Europe Libraries, offers a digital library collection of books and audiobooks for download.  Audiobooks & ebooks can be downloaded and transferred to a portable device.

Books 24X7 Referenceware is the largest online book resource offering unobstructed access to the complete unabridged contents of thousands of the latest and best business and technology books. This is accessed through AKO.

National Academies Press allows you to download all PDF versions of their published books for FREE.  This includes their current catalog of more than 4,000 books plus future reports published by the NAP.

Army MWR Library New Circulation System

Army MWR Library has unveiled a New Circulation System!  All patrons should visit their garrison Library to update their login credentials on the new system. Once updated, patrons can renew their checkouts and reserve physical items from the library from wherever they are and pick them up after.
